MASTERPLAN

The timescales for delivering new infrastructure include:

  • The first phase will deliver significant green infrastructure including open space for a cricket pitch, outdoor sports pitches, ponds and wetlands, tree-lined formal avenues and two major green corridors or ‘linear parks’
  • The linear parks weave through the new housing to provide access to the local countryside and proposed facilities. They also incorporate two new play areas for younger and older children
  • The planting within the first phase includes over 4,500 trees and 40,000 shrubs, the majority of which are native species to help tie the development into the local landscape
  • The first form of primary school will open before the 500th home is occupied, with the full school open by 1,200th home
  • The access link will be delivered before the 575th home is occupied
  • The community hub buildings will open before the 1,500th home
  • There will be investment into local healthcare in early phases, with the new healthcare centre opening by the 1,725th home
  • Secondary school provision will either be enhanced and expanded
  • A second primary school will open before 2,000 homes are occupied
  • The Northern Link road will be completed before the 2,355th dwelling is occupied
  • The third primary school will open before 4,000 homes are occupied
  • 25% of the homes across the site will be affordable and this will include a mixture of housing type and size
