The Thorpebury Liaison Group which includes representatives from Charnwood Borough Council, Leicester City Council, Barkby & Barkby Thorpe Parish Council, Thurmaston Parish Council, Hamilton Residents Association, BABTAG and ‘Duck Pond’ residents met with developer CEG to discuss the site-wide phasing strategy and the naming of Thorpebury was unveiled.
The Liaison Group was established by CEG in 2013 prior to the submission of a planning application. It was borne out of CEG, and the landowner’s desire to ensure that local people, elected members and community groups could be involved in the evolution of this special place. It has continued to meet up to four times a year and is now a formal organisation which is helping to create a community that will be a sustainable and welcoming place to live and work.
